once upon a pavement
step out. step out. the pitter patter of a single set of soles. they might multiply. they might get somewhere. faced with governmental machinery. or worse still militarial. the many become few. the few become one. and make all the difference.
This little piece went up in Barcelona around the time protest began in Egypt.

boxhead
Living in a box. A myopia pertaining to the inability to see beyond ones own experiences.
What a dose
feat: CHAOS and BOXHEAD
CHAOS' tags can be found all over Barcelona. He is one of the cities most prolific taggers.
BOXHEAD (i think that's his name) is found in quite a few spots in a few different guises. I don't believe I have any more photos though. If only I was a wee bit more organised....

¡Escapate! Eres más"
hands free
Always on the up. Subir. Aumentar. From 1972 until today and on, at an ever increasing speed of life. Lets try to fit everything in to the shortest space of time. But really what is a space of time? I can't take hold of it or even see a space of time...
...even so, a space almost implies an emptiness. A void across which things pass...
time is richness. full to the brim

Protests
This photo was taken around the time that people began to occupy Placa Catalunya enocuraging people to take part in democracy.
--The People Decide Nobody Represents Them--
Attached are a few photos from Placa Catalunya on the night of the 28th of May (the night after the Police violently tried to clear the square).

I hate this Ray-Ban Bullshit!
So RayBan started this Never Hide marketing campaign this summer and seem to have handed out these stencil-frames (or maybe they have a street team...). You may have noticed it on the previous post around the head of the dude. Within a 2 week period these Never Hide things were all over my area of Barcelona, primarily on graffiti and around the head of the subjects. Grrrr. I can't really complain, its graffiti after all, I just wish it wasn't Ray-Ban getting there message onto it.
Anyways, rant over.
el arte es basura
Barcelona based graffiti artist, el arte es basura, usually uses mixed media to make his pieces. Using the walls, props and papers to make pieces that jump off the wall and create another space between the wall and the street....unfortunately the photo I've taken is pretty straightforward. But thankfull here is a link to a whole host of his stuff that is absolutely amazing.

A Distinct Lack of Motivation....
I'm suffering from a major motivational hazard. Who can say what it is but in an attempt to move out of it I'll try landing up some new photos.
Here is a photo from Poblenou, Barcelona. This is an old industrial area in the constantly increasing metropolitan area. This area has seen a lot of change and many of the photos I have from Barca are from here.
With the return of som motivation I can hopefully tell a few stories about Poblenou too...For now enjoy this

MOBE
MOBE has been putting up these pieces around Cork for probably about a year now (it could be longer). I was really enjoying them just turning up around the city when I was living there. Unfortunately because they weren't on the surface of buildings and walls when I went back to take photos they were gone (and thats why I really have to remember my camera). Mostly it was probably me just forgetting where I saw them. Anywhere, here are a few MOBE's from around Cork.

Ladybirds
Located in the Graffiti Car Park, Cork. I think its on Dunbar Street....otherwise Rutland Street. There are a few to follow from here, taken last year. Its one of the few places in Ireland where graffiti is allowed. the walls change regularly in there.
